Working Principal Of Pulse Vacuum Autoclave

Pressure steam sterilizer is the main method for sterilization in current hospitals, which is with the advance including fast sterilization, reliable effect, good penetration, no poison residual, economy and safe operation. So it is widely used in many medical institutes. It is widely used for the medical instruments that could bear heat and moisture. In our country, it is used as the best sterilization method for the medical items that could bear high temperature and high moisture.

The sterilization of the pulse vacuum autoclave is to put the items for sterilization into a vessel. Seal the vessel and eliminate the air inside the autoclave by vacuum before get the steam into the chamber, and the autoclave would eliminate the steam inside the chamber again by vacuum before getting the steam into the chamber again, the vacuum and steam inlet would be operated by three times, which could eliminate the cold air by more than 99%. By this way, the saturated steam could get into the chamber for heating. And the temperature could be controlled by the pressure of the steam, which could be adjusted up to 134℃, under the high temperature, the protein of the bacteria would be denatured to achieve the sterilization effect.

Operation procedures
The operations of autoclave include, preparation, loading the items, start sterilization, unloading the items and sterilization effect monitoring.
A. Preparations before sterilization
Before operation, the safety of the autoclave should be checked, including the pressure meter should indicate to zero position; the sealing is not broken, and the door could be opened and closed flexible; the condensed water inside the chamber could be discharged smoothly, and the chamber is clean; electric source, water source, steam, compressed air could be supplied normally.
Conduct B-D test before operation every day.
B. Items loading
Check before the operation:
1.Check if the packing of the items could meet the requirement, the external package is clean, with no damage and humidity.
2.Use the cotton cloth or non-woven fabrics to pack the items and ensure that the package is sealed, the hole for the metal container is open, and the button functions well.
3.The items after packing should be sterilized in 4 hours.
4.The chemical indicator bandage should be posted outside of the package to make it convenient for check the color change.
Items loading:
1.Loading cart or baskets and plates should be used for loading the items. The packages interval should be remained to make it convenient for the penetration of sterilization medium.
2.The apparatus, instruments, and items in same material should be sterilized in the one cycle
3.When sterilizing the items in different material, the fabric items should be put on the upper level, and the metal items put on the lower level.
4.Instrument apparatus and hard container should be put flatwise, and the basin, bowl or plates should be put in sideways, the glass bottles or the containers with no holes at the bottom should be put backwards or by sideways, paper bag or plastic bag should be put by the sideways to make it convenient for the circulation of steam.
5.The large package put in the upper layer, and the small package put in the lower layer.
6.The loading quantity should not be more than 90% or less than 10%.

Sterilization operation
1. Observe the cycle parameters (temperature, time, pressure) and check if it could meet the standard
2.Observe if the operation is normal
3.Observe if the steam leaks during operation.
4.Check and confirm if the sterilization cycle could meet the requirement, and record the data.
5.Record content should include: the sterilization items, quantity, autoclave batch No. Cycle No.. sterilization procedure, sterilization temperature, sterilization date, sterilization time, operator and etc.
6.After sterilization, the record data, test result, and printed parameters should be kept for at least 3 years.

Unloading of the sterilized items
1.Before unloading, operators should clean hand and wear heat isolate gloves.
2.After sterilization, take the loading cart out of the autoclave and observe the color change of the indicator, if the color change cannot meet the requirement, then the sterilization is not qualified.
3.When taking the items out of the shelves, the temperature on the surface of the items should be decreased to room temperature, and the cooling time should be longer than 30 minutes, the package cannot be put on the table before cooling to prevent the generate of condensed water that causes wet of the package.
4.Check if the package is wet to prevent the pollution of the sterilized items, and if the packages are put on the floor or dirty place, it is deemed that the package is polluted.
